As the saying goes: “It’s an Ace in the hole”. Vegas’ new rock club fits the bill perfectly for an on-the-Strip rock locale, conveniently positioned on the second level of the Venetian and adjacent to the Palazzo.

The hot, new rock club befits pretty much everyone’s description of good old rock ‘n roll: dimly lit with a pool table, video poker, booze of course, great-tasting fru-fru drinks for the gals, sexy pole-dancers for the guys, and most important of all – great rock music that’ll make the guys bang their heads and the girls grind their booty.

Everyone’s truly a rocker at heart – even the country gals – you’ll see them kicking it up to a rockin’ tune like AC/DC’s “Shook Me All Night Long”. No one can sit still to that! And “Aces” knows how to kick out the jams. It feels just like any other rock bar – very little seating, mostly standing around with a drink in your hand, with everyone checking out the evening’s hotties. But what a better spot to do it, since you can listen to some groovin’ rock music at the same time (a great blend of classic rock and today’s modern, crunching sounds). The DJ’s spin up a pleasing combination, (and unlike many other clubs, where you’re just getting into the groove of your favorite song’s chorus and they change tunes – you won’t hear an abrupt edit into some new song – to the contrary – “Aces” DJ’s were obviously naturals at knowing when is NOT the time to scratch off a tune).

Rock music is quite opposite dance and hip-hop in that effect. It tells a story – it has to get to the part where you can “squeeze me babe, ‘til the juice runs down my leg”, (like Led Zeppelin’s “Lemon Song”). If stopped before the climax, you won’t get to see the girls grinding on each other (or on you, for that matter).

Rock ‘n Roll is about having fun, sex, and a carefree attitude of not taking any shit, and rebelling against fascism (wait, that’s Punk Rock). Either way, “Smokin’ Hot Aces” delivers the right blend of all the genres of rock: metal, pop, hardcore, punk, alternative, grunge, and glam.

It can’t be called a rock bar without a stage for live performances. And this club is certainly an intimate showroom that hosts to both national and top local bands as a venue to gig at. Since the stage is only one stair-step above the main floor, it may be difficult to actually see the band, but if you’re lucky enough to get right up close – it’ll be your dream come true, ‘cause you could practically reach out and touch your favorite rock God in this bar.

We’re hoping to see some of our favorite rock bands up close and personal on the weekends. Plus there are specially-themed nights throughout the week: Mash-Up Mondays (with DJ Thomas and Special Spinning Guests), Tuesdays are Rockstar Live! Karaoke (where you get to sing with a live band to back you up!), Wednesdays are Industry Night (buy 1 get 1 free drinks and bottles between 11pm-midnight), and Thursdays are Rockin’ 80’s. Daily Happy Hour offers two for one cocktails from 5-9pm. Sorry, only 21 and older for entry. SLV
